The first resident artist to be hosted at Pullman, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Art Hub and Institut français, is Contemporary Artist Michel Bizet. Starting March 13th and running till April 12th the first of the seasonal exhibitions will be taking place, with French native artist Michel Bizet in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Art Hub and Institut francais.
Born in Jallieu, France on September 26, 1941, Michel Bizet’s passion for art and creation started at a young age of 12 where he practiced drawing landscapes and still life. Before moving to Paris in 1957, Michel destroyed all his previous work and started his journey at the capital, leading a turbulent life into the 70’s, juggling work with his passion for painting. Working in real estate development, his work took him to the Dominican Republic in 1995 where he worked on major tourism development projects and finally made the decision to focus completely on his art. 2008 marked his first exhibition, entitled “Oxygen” at the museum of Royal Houses in Santo Domingo; sculptures and installations that played on the metaphor “Less is More”. Then in 2009 his second exhibition entitled “Yes we Can” was hosted at the Gallery of the French Embassy in Santo Domingo; a tribute to tropical nature and its preservation, in a context of reciprocal links with the CDAF (Center of Agricultural and Forest Development).
