“CoLab, a story of cultural cooperation”
@Art Dubai
Saturday 24th March – 2.00pm

The United Arab Emirates and France have built up closer and closer ties since the creation of the Federation. This long-lasting and strong friendship is embodied in the field of culture by the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

“CoLab – contemporary art & savoir-faire” is part of the Emirati-French Cultural Programme presented at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. It arises from the encounter of artists from the UAE and French historical manufacturers, enabling exchanges between young and talented creators and institutions whose reputation has been forged over several centuries.

The Emirati-French Cultural Programme marked the success of the last ten years of cultural cooperation between the two countries. From March 2016 to March 2018, rich and varied events have highlighted the youth and know-how from the UAE and France.

This talk will be the opportunity to focus on this relevant cultural cooperation project, and to present future initiatives within the 2018 Emirati-French Cultural Dialogue.

Speakers: Talin HAZBAR, artist and architect; Marius LUBIN, Manufacture de Sèvres; and Camille PETIT, Director of Institut français and Cultural Counsellor of the French Embassy in the UAE
Moderator: Alia LOOTAH, curator of the exhibition CoLab
