The UAE French Institute is committed to promoting French architecture alongside AFEX, French Architects for Export, and the Ministry of Culture and Business France.
French expertise in architecture stands out in several areas of interest to the United Arab Emirates, such as: sustainability, the re-conversion of the remarkable contemporary heritage, contemporaneity and creativity in extreme environments.
This new field for the French Institute will rely on exhibitions, trips and professional exchanges, mobility of Emirati architects in French agencies, conferences and awareness actions adapted to the public, including the youngest.
In 2021, the Rougerie Foundation will present its 2020 Awards at the French Pavilion of the Expo 2020, at the invitation of the UAE French Institute, in collaboration with COFREX and the Department of Architecture of the American University of Sharjah,
AFEX will lead a thematic day at the French pavilion, during the sustainable city fortnight. This day will be part of a study tour co-organized by Business France and the UAE French Institute.
The AJAP Exhibition, Albums of Young Architects and Landscape Architects will be presented and may be extended by the AFEX Exhibition.
Upon resumption of mobility, young Emirati architects may be hosted in agencies in France.
