The Cooperation and Cultural Action Department of the French Embassy in the UAE is pleased to support the 4th edition of the Sharjah Film Plateform Festival, organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation. The Festival supports the growing film scene by celebrating and supporting the work of local, regional and international filmmakers.
The festival will take place from November 19 to 27, 2021 and offers a film program of more than 60 short and feature films in the narrative, documentary and experimental genres.
The festival also includes a public program of lectures and workshops led by renowned filmmakers: the SFP Industry Hub, an industry-focused professional program that supports film creation and production; and prizes for best narrative film, best documentary and best experimental film, which are selected by a jury of distinguished directors, filmmakers and critics.
The post welcomes the presence of two French experts: Alma Chaouachi, curator, who will represent the work of Randa Maroufi, Moroccan artist who lives and works in Paris during the discussion scheduled for November 20; as well as Jihan El Tahri, Franco-Egyptian writer, director and producer who will moderate the November 27 online session entitled: Archive Alive! From the repository to the resource.
