Abu Dhabi Art

Each year participating exhibitors are selected by an internal committee at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, based on proposals submitted through the Abu Dhabi Art website. Some exhibitors are directly invited to participate by guest curators in curated sectors. International Modern and Contemporary galleries present a wide range of artworks for sale by different artists.

Abu Dhabi Art, major event of the UAE art scene will take place from November 17 to 21. The Institut Français will support several French galleries and welcomes the willingness of members of the French artistic scene to travel to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the event.

The Institut français in the UAE welcomes Zineb Sedira in Abu Dhabi! Our guest will represent France in 2022 Venice Biennal.

Showcased by Third Line Gallery from Dubai, Zineb Sedira is a leading artist of her generation. She has actively contributed to enriching the discourse on contemporary artistic practices through her exploration of alternative histories of colonialism and contested historical narratives. Her work also interrogates themes of collective memory and the transmission of this heritage. Since the beginning of her career, she has developed a polymorphous vocabulary that borrows from autobiographical narrative, fiction and documentary.
