Bollywood on stage – Piano Concert

As an extension of the “Bollywood Superstars” exhibition at the Louvre-Abu Dhabi, the two french pianists David Bismuth and Maxime Zecchini are happy to present an original 4 hands program around French music (Debussy, Fauré…), music inspired by cinema (Michel Legrand, Leonard Bernstein…) and finally the most iconic soundtracks from Bollywood movies (Burman, Rahman…).

Dancers, that look as though they have been plucked from Bollywood superstar exhibition at Louvre Abu Dhabi, will give a free pop-up performance, imagined by Indian Choregrapher Dr Asha Nair, under the dome, while concert pianists, Maxime Zecchini and David Bismuth performs a variety of work representing the spirit of Bollywood cinema.

This performance is in partnership with Indian embassy in the UAE and Louvre Abu Dhabi.

About Maxime Zecchini

High graduate of the Conservatoire National de Musique of Paris, Maxime Zecchini is the first French pianist to receive a degree from the prestigious “Incontri col Maestro Academy” in Imola – Italy, he is winner of the international competition in Arcachon, he was awarded the Cziffra Foundation Prize. He won the First Prize by unanimous decision at the international competition at Varenna- Lake Como. He has played in the numerous festivals in particular la Seine Musicale, Salle Gaveau, Châtelet’s Theater, the Beijing’s Opera, Shanghai’s Opera, Tchaïkovsky’s Conservatory in Moscow, Kiev’s Philharmonie, with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Pasdeloup Orchestra, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Johannesburg Orchestra Philharmonic, Cuenca Orchestra Philharmonic, Nijni-Novgorod Orchestra Philharmonic… It was possible to listen him abroad in about 60 countries.

His discography includes the first Anthology in the world of the works for the left hand in 10 volumes ( piano solo, chamber’s music and concertos ), multi-award-winning (FFFF/ Télérama, 4 clés/Diapason, 4 stars/Classica, Le Monde, radio and tv program…). He has played notably in the Carnegie Hall of New York in may 2022.

About David Bismuth

Designated by Pianiste Magazine as one of the ten most gifted French pianists of his generation, David Bismuth is acclaimed by critics for his luminous and profound playing, which combines the science of architecture and the poetry of timbre. In 2020, David Bismuth celebrates the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, notably at the Philharmonie de Paris (Concerto n.1), at the Salle Gaveau in Paris (Concerto n°4), at the Folle Journée de Nantes, as well as with the soloists of the Monte Carlo Orchestra. He also performed at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, with the Moscow Soloists conducted by Yuri Bashmet (Haydn Concerto). In 2021, he was notably invited to the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris (Mozart Concerto n.20).

And made in March 2022 his debut in New York at Carnegie Hall (Recital hall) performing a French music recital.
