DELF Junior is an official examination of the French Ministry of National Education designed for teenagers enrolled in secondary schools who are learning French. It awards a globally recognized diploma, valid for life, and also provides access to French universities offering programs in French or English.

It consists of four levels corresponding to the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, and B2. Each level assesses candidates’ language skills in the areas of oral and written comprehension and expression.

Institut Français in the United Arab Emirates organizes six examination sessions of DELF Junior each year, spread across four dates, at partner schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai.

During the current academic year 2022/2023, 993 candidates from over 80 schools participated in the DELF Junior examination sessions. This involved over 180 interventions from teachers, invigilators, and examiners, which demonstrates the extent of support from participating schools and the commitment of those involved to the success of the DELF Junior examination sessions. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the partner schools that hosted the examination sessions in their premises:

Focus on the latest DELF Junior diploma award ceremony

29 students from The Millenium School in Dubai had the honor of receiving their DELF Junior diplomas from the Consul General of France, Nathalie Kennedy, during a ceremony organized by the school on May 9, 2023.

On this occasion, the students presented splendid performances of songs and choreographies that reflect the diversity of the French-speaking world.

These diploma award ceremonies serve to highlight the skills acquired by the students, the teachings provided, the involvement of the schools and their management, as well as the families who encourage their children in learning French as a foreign language. The presence of a representative from the French State formalizes the attainment of the diploma and strengthens motivation to continue learning.
