For this exhibition, the French artist Calixte presents a series of chromatic with a majority of blue colors. The intense and deep blue speaks of an immensity, of a wave of time that belongs to us, embraces us. Calixte chooses several periods of her life in this exhibition, personal and intimate. The characters talk about their emotions and carry us away. She integrated some characters living in the Emirates, who inspired her life here.
Calixte works oil painting with a knife. This technique allows her to integrate chance into her work, and a thickness linked to the expression of emotions. The random aspect of the gesture gives consistency with the free spirit of the painter. The artist likes to play with color, capture chance and thus give free access to emotions. After studying at the Beaux Arts in Paris, and practicing the profession of architect for 15 years, Calixte returns to what has never left her. Architecture, her personal life, her encounters, the practice of theater, her artistic culture had a certain influence in her work. She approaches her series of paintings, according to moments of her life and what influences her. Interiority, freedom and a sense of truth are themes important to her, which can be found in each series covered. Calixte has been exhibiting his paintings since 2015, in Paris, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, her works are also present in Germany, Spain, Lebanon and the United States.
