The Institut Français UAE, the Francophone Pavilions and Expo 2020 Dubai celebrated the Francophonie International Day on 20 March. This day was the opportunity to celebrate the French language, spoken by more than 300 million people on five continents, and to highlight the richness and diversity of French-speaking cultures through activities, games and conferences for all.

For the Francophonie International Day, the French-speaking countries organized activities throughout the Expo 2020 site. With blind tests and quizzes, they learned French in a playful way by visiting each French-speaking pavilion to a “voucher” that allowed them to collect a gift in one of the other participating pavilions: croissant, macaroons, maple syrup, shea butter, bhân mi and many others!

Under the patronage of the French National Commission for UNESCO, this thematic morning was punctuated by numerous exchanges, led by experts, and followed by a moment of conviviality.
It was introduced by our great witness, Ivan KABACOFF, head of institutional relations at TV5MONDE and moderated by Marie-Béatrice LEVAUX, first vice-president of UCESIF, Philippe PEJO, vice-president of AFAL and Benjamin BOUTIN, President of Francophonie sans frontières. Four sequences were tackled: education, economy, creation and politics.
